OBITUARY-Comrade Bob Balahura
BALAHURA, Dmytro (Bob) Passed away at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of 72 years to Julia Balahura (nee Humeniski). Dear father of Dr. Robert Balahura (Jean E.) and Nancy and Don Forsythe. Loved grandfather of Melissa Smith and Rob Balahura and great grandfather of Jessica Maziarz. Also survived by his sister Rose Antonison. Bob served with the RCAF from 1941 until 1945 in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Bob was a 61 year Member of RCL Branch 50. A private family funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee (Haiti Relief) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
